Bloomberg's Crackdown on Booze

Citing health and crime-related concerns, the New York City mayor targeted a surprising new crowd in 2013: moderate drinkers. His rationale was that the more acceptable drinking was among friends and family, the more people would become alcoholics. So his perverted logic was to punish those who had done no wrong and take away freedoms from all New Yorkers. His ban would cover all alcohol except for beer—as he personally enjoyed a beer or two each week, he would graciously allow other New Yorkers that same pleasure.
